Family Chiropractic in Holt, Michigan
One office on E Willoughby Road where your newborn, your teenager and your grandparents can all be seen by the same two doctors.
Treating the Whole Person, Not Just the Symptoms
Family chiropractic at Holt Chiropractic means one practice looks after everyone in your household, whatever their age. Dr. Jessica Coleman and Dr. Moriah Severance examine each person on their own terms, then work from what that body needs right now: a desk worker whose neck has stiffened up, a child who landed hard at practice, a grandparent who wants to keep gardening. We treat the spine and the extremities both, so shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees, ankles and feet are all in scope, and we can advise on lifestyle, nutrition and exercise alongside. Everything we do is non-invasive and drug-free, and we stay focused on treating the whole person, not just the symptoms.
- Both doctors see every age, so your household is not split between offices
- A history and examination for each person before anyone is adjusted
- Pressure and technique scaled to the person on the table, infant to senior
- Appointments Monday and Wednesday 9am to 6pm, Thursday 2pm to 6pm, Friday 9am to 3pm

Questions Families Ask Us
Which doctor will my family see at Holt Chiropractic?
Dr. Jessica Coleman and Dr. Moriah Severance both care for families at our Holt office, and either of them can look after every member of your household. Dr. Moriah is Webster Certified, so she is the one you will usually see for pregnancy-related care. If you would rather see one of them in particular, say so when you book online or call (517) 699-2646.
When is the Holt office open?
We see patients Monday and Wednesday from 9am to 6pm, Thursday from 2pm to 6pm, and Friday from 9am to 3pm. We are closed Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday. Online booking is open around the clock, and the phone line is (517) 699-2646 during office hours.
How young can a child be adjusted?
There is no lower age limit. An infant or young child is checked and adjusted with very light pressure, nothing like the adjustment an adult receives, and the doctor talks you through what she is doing as she goes. Parents are welcome to stay alongside their child for the whole visit.
Can I be adjusted while I am pregnant?
Yes. Dr. Moriah Severance is Webster Certified, and Webster is used for the pelvic and low back discomfort that comes with the changes of pregnancy. Positioning is adapted so you stay comfortable at any stage, and our prenatal page covers what those visits involve.
Do you see families from outside Holt?
Yes. Our patients drive in from Lansing, East Lansing, Okemos, Dewitt, Mason, Eaton Rapids, Grand Ledge, Charlotte and Dimondale as well as Holt itself. The office is at 4573 E Willoughby Rd, Suite B.
Can several of us be seen on the same trip?
That is usually how it works. Ask for back to back times when you book and one drive covers two or three people, which matters when the visit has to fit around school and shift work. If the slots you want are not showing online, call (517) 699-2646 and we will sort the timing out with you.
Do you work with insurance?
We work with most major insurances. What a plan covers for chiropractic differs from policy to policy, so call (517) 699-2646 with your card in front of you and we will check your benefits before the first visit rather than after it.
* Early, small studies have reported short-term changes in immune-related lab markers after spinal manipulation (Teodorczyk-Injeyan JA et al., J Manipulative Physiol Ther. 2006;29(1):14-21). A 2021 systematic review concluded such immune-function claims are premature (Chow N et al., JAMA Netw Open. 2021;4(4):e215493). Chiropractic care is not a treatment for infectious disease.

Popular questions
From our FAQs:
Is chiropractic care safe?
Yes. Chiropractic care is safe when performed by licensed professionals like our team in Holt, Michigan. Side effects are rare and mild, typically slight soreness that fades quickly, and years of training mean every adjustment is precise and effective.
From our FAQs:
Does a chiropractic adjustment hurt?
No. We use precise, gentle force to realign your spine or joints, which relieves nerve pressure, reduces inflammation, and improves mobility. That pop you might hear is just gas collapsing in the joint, and it is perfectly normal.
From our FAQs:
How many visits will I need?
Every patient is unique, so the answer depends on you. After your adjustment we create a personalized plan that may include follow-up visits, corrective exercises, and complementary therapies like massage or stretching.
From our FAQs:
What conditions do chiropractors treat?
We address a wide range of issues, including back pain, neck pain, sciatica, headaches and migraines, and sports injuries. Neck pain is often tied to poor posture or whiplash injuries, and sciatica is radiating leg pain from nerve compression. Whatever brings you in, our chiropractors are here to help.
From our FAQs:
What happens at my first visit?
Your first visit starts with an initial consultation, where you share your health goals and symptoms with us. Next is a physical exam, where we assess your posture, spine, and range of motion. Then comes your first adjustment. Finally we outline a care plan, a roadmap for your recovery and wellness.
From our FAQs:
Do you need a referral to see a chiropractor?
Most insurance plans do not require a referral. Some plan types do. Call (517) 699-2646 before your visit and we will check your specific plan for you.
From our FAQs:
Can children see a chiropractor?
Yes. Dr. Moriah Severance's practice focuses on children's health and family care, and adjustments for infants and young children use very gentle techniques. Parents bring their children to us for concerns such as latch issues, torticollis, colic, and reflux.
From our FAQs:
Can I see a chiropractor if I am pregnant?
Yes. Dr. Moriah Severance is Webster Certified and cares for patients before, during, and after pregnancy. Adjustments are adapted for comfort at every stage.
From our FAQs:
What insurance do you accept?
We work with most major insurances. We accept Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, Blue Care Network, Cigna, Aetna, Humana, UnitedHealthcare, VA Community Care Network, Priority Health, HAP, and McLaren Commercial.
