Digital X-Rays in Holt, Michigan
Imaging taken here in our Holt office, and only when it tells your doctor something the examination cannot.
Imaging With a Purpose Behind It
An X-ray is a question, not a formality. Dr. Jessica Coleman and Dr. Moriah Severance may use X-rays or other diagnostic tools to assess your spine and pinpoint problem areas, and they reach that decision after listening to your history and putting hands on you, never as a routine step everyone walks through on the way in.
When imaging is the right call, it happens in the same appointment. Nothing gets sent across town and nothing waits on a disc in the mail. The pictures are on the screen within minutes, your doctor talks you through what is on them in plain language, and what they show goes straight into a plan tailored to your unique needs. Patients come to us for this from Holt, Mason, Dimondale, Okemos and across the Lansing area, during our regular hours: Monday and Wednesday 9am to 6pm, Thursday 2pm to 6pm, and Friday 9am to 3pm.
Some questions are bigger than an X-ray can answer. If an MRI or another advanced study is clinically indicated we will arrange it or point you to your primary care provider or the right specialist, which comes up most often for people recovering from a collision, whose injuries have to be documented as carefully as they are treated. Most plans cover diagnostic imaging when it is medically necessary, so call us at (517) 699-2646 and we will look into your coverage before anything is taken.
- Taken during the visit you are already in, not booked out to an imaging center
- Digital sensors in place of film, which keeps the dose you receive small
- Read through with you on the screen, in words you can follow
- Kept on file, so your doctor has something to compare against if things change
How We Use What We See
Clinical Evaluation
What you tell us and what the hands-on examination finds come first, and together they settle whether an image is worth taking
Digital Imaging
If the answer is yes, we image the region in question right here, and the pictures are ready before you leave the room
Detailed Analysis
Dr. Jessica or Dr. Moriah sits beside you, points out what matters on the image and says plainly what it means for you
Treatment Planning
Those findings shape the gentle, drug-free care that follows, so the work is aimed at the real problem rather than the loudest symptom
Common Questions
Does every new patient end up getting X-rays?
No. Plenty of people are examined, treated and on their way with no imaging at all. Your doctor orders an X-ray only when the answer would change how you are cared for, and she will explain what she is looking for before anything is taken.
How much radiation am I actually exposed to?
Very little. Digital equipment produces a usable image at a lower dose than the film it replaced, and we image only the area in question rather than sweeping the whole spine. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or think you may be, and she will talk you through what is appropriate before a single image is taken.
I have already had imaging done somewhere else. Does that help?
It often does. Bring the films or the written report with you, or tell us where the study was done. Imaging from an urgent care, a hospital or another office can answer the question without repeating anything. Call (517) 699-2646 before your appointment if you are not sure what is worth bringing.
